Juicing For Dogs

25 May

Ever wonder if you should keep or toss the pulp from your juicer?  The answer is KEEP IT!  Juice pulp is high in fiber and there are so many different ways to use juice pulp in endless recipes; veggie burgers, smoothies, muffins and even dog treats! This week I decided to test out “juice pulp dogs treats”, and my furry friends went nuts!

  • 1-2 cups juice pulp (I used carrots, celery, spinach and cucumbers)
  • 1 mashed banana
  • 1 spoonful of coconut oil
  • Peanut butter and rolled oats optional

  • Mix all ingredients together (you want the same consistency as if you were making cookies)
  • roll out 1 inch balls on to a greased baking sheet
  • Bake for around 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are some fruits and veggies that are highly toxic to dogs. Check with your veterinarian and please make sure you don’t include these in your juice pulp treats.
